NGS chemical tanker kit planned for December release
By: Gareth Bayer
The latest kit from the N Gauge Society, representing a modern two-axle chemical tank wagon, will be available very soon.
As well as releasing the ready-to-run Queen Mary brake van at the Warley exhibition at the NEC, the N Gauge Society was showing off a selection of built up examples of its forthcoming TTA chemical tank wagon kit (NGK037) on its stand at the show. Designed to reproduce a number of Procor and Metro-Cammell designs, the kit requires a Graham Farish TTA chassis and includes a smaller barrel with two different ends (conical or rounded), two lengths of walkways, buffer overiders and end heater tubes.
There is also a comprehensive transfer sheet covering vehicles like the BRT and TRL ICI caustic soda, ICA and Hays chlorine, Procor molasses and sulphuric acid tanks. In a nice touch, the kit also includes a moulded brick bund so the Grafar TTA body can be used as a static fuel tank.
Due for release in the second week of December, the chemical tanker will be available singly at £19.75, or in the usual discounted NGS bundles, with a triple set retailing at £56.30. Further multi-packs are available right up to ten wagons. P&P on all orders is £3.50.
