The retailer has received the first decorated samples of its long-awaited ‘OO’ gauge china clay carrier from DJ Models.
NEWLY received by Kernow Model Rail Centre are the first decorated versions of its PBA/JIA ‘Clay Tiger’ bogie hopper wagon, the 4mm scale model being produced exclusively for the retailer by DJ Models.
Both of these are pictured here, the English China Clays white model being in the original PBA guise as operating in the 1980s while the Tiphook Rail blue example depicts the wagons following modification for use on services to the continent, this including the addition of lashing rings on the solebars along with new numbers and TOPS code of JIA.
These samples have now been checked and a list of corrections drawn up. Production is expected to commence shortly for delivery later this year, although no month has yet been set. Eight versions of each livery are being produced with four of each in pristine condition and the other four featuring weathering. All will have different wagon numbers with the pristine models priced £44.99 and the weathered ones at £49.99.
