00-Gauge Model of Reading Station

by

I am the Treasurer of Redruth MRC and we have acquired a fantastic 00-gauge model of Reading Station.

This was built in a purpose-built railway shed which is 100 feet long.  The layout has some 160 feet of running capacity and it is a pleasure to watch full length trains running at realistic line speed through the countryside.  We plan to modify it to become a smaller exhibition layout incorporating the immediate station area.

The station is as before the remodelling and the layout incorporates working 4 aspect MAS, hand built points and photo-backscene.

In addition to the main station there is a model of Twyford station and a representation of Sonning Cutting.

There are four main running lines and a 16-track fiddle yard with each line able to fit 3 full HST sets.

Thanks to Andrew Keast for sending this in. If you’d like to your model to be mentioned, head to the Model Spotting form here.
