It’s one of the highlights of any railway lover’s Christmas, a magical experience for the whole family… and thanks to our friends at the Severn Valley Railway, you can enjoy a brilliant start to your festive season.
We have three compartments for six people reserved and ready aboard the top heritage line’s Santa Steam Special.
Just take part in our easy-to-enter Christmas competition and you could be stepping aboard a magical steam train from Kidderminster Station and journeying into a world of festive wonder, whether you’re four… or slightly older!

You’ll join Santa and friends for The Recipe for Christmas, a heart-warming theatrical adventure brought to life at Arley Station. Departures run throughout the day from Kidderminster Station (DY10 1QX), and the full experience lasts at least 2½ hours.
After the show, your train will take you on the return journey to Kidderminster — with a special surprise on board. Every child will receive a present from Santa’s team to take home as a keepsake of their magical day, while on selected departures you can also hop off at Bewdley Station to explore the charming riverside town before heading back to Kidderminster later in the day.
It will be a festive experience like no other — filled with laughter, music, and Christmas magic from start to finish, and for the Severn Valley Railway’s seasonal spectacular the trains depart from Kidderminster Station between 10am and 4.30pm from November 28 all the way up til Christmas Eve.
Please note, Santa does not meet guests personally, instead, you’ll see him take centre stage during The Recipe for Christmas at Arley Station.
It’s a busy time for the Severn Valley railway, so our prizes are ONLY available on the weekend of November 28/29. You will also need to make your own way to and from the station.
There are no cash alternatives, and you will not be able to exchange your prize for another event at the railway.
